Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
1. Commitment and scope
At Growth, we respect and protect our readers' privacy. This policy transparently explains what technical data is processed during your visit, how it is used, and what rights you hold.
Growth operates under a strict principle of data minimization: we only process technical data strictly necessary to provide the website's features.
2. Location data and weather service
To provide relevant local weather data in the market terminal, our server reads the visitor's IP address from the x-forwarded-for HTTP header provided by our network proxy. This address is used strictly in-memory at runtime to infer the approximate city via queries to external services ipwho.is or, if that fails, geojs.io.
Growth does not store, log, or record your IP address in any database or log file; the query is performed without caching (no-store). Using the resulting geographic coordinates, rounded to two decimal places, a real-time weather query is made to api.open-meteo.com.
If you choose a city manually using the terminal selector, your selection is stored solely in your browser's local storage (localStorage, under the key growth:weather-city). This information is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
3. Infrastructure and content delivery
All Growth articles, images, and editorial resources are managed and delivered through our proprietary CMS infrastructure. This guarantees content integrity without relying on third-party distribution networks that track individual user behavior.
4. Analytics and traffic measurement
The site includes a technical integration with Google Tag Manager for audience measurement. This analytics setup operates solely if the corresponding container is configured and enabled via the NEXT_PUBLIC_GTM_ID environment variable.
If measurement is active, anonymous and aggregated metrics regarding page views and interactions are collected to assess platform performance. If the variable is not set, no container script is loaded or executed in your browser.
5. Reader account, activity and privacy
If you create an account on Growth, we store your email address and the explicit actions you perform on the platform: saved articles, topics and authors you follow, and editorial reactions («Interested», «Want to understand more», «Not interested»).
If you grant analytics cookie consent («growth_consent=granted»), we also record reading events and article reading history solely to improve your site experience. You can review and delete your entire reading history at any time from your dashboard at /cuenta.
[Draft] Newsletter subscription: if you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address, topic categories of interest, and chosen delivery frequency. This data is used exclusively to deliver the requested editorial digests, and you can unsubscribe at any time with a single click using the link included in each email.
[Draft] A/B tests: when enabled and you have accepted analytics cookies, the site stores a first-party cookie (“growth_ab”) with a random identifier so you always see the same variant of a text or layout. We only count how many times each variant is shown and clicked, aggregated per day and not linked to your account or identity. If you do not accept analytics cookies you always see the reference version and nothing is counted.
[Draft] Push alerts: if you turn on alerts from your account, we store the technical subscription address generated by your browser (not your email or name) together with your language, to send you an alert when free articles are published in what you follow. You can turn them off at /cuenta or in your browser settings; when you do, or when you delete your account, we remove the subscription.
This section constitutes a technical and operational draft subject to definitive legal review prior to public launch.
6. Data subject rights and applicable law
Pursuant to Law No. 18,331 on Personal Data Protection and Habeas Data Action of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, you have the right to access, rectify, update, or request the deletion of your personal data at any time.
Readers located in the European Union (under GDPR) and in the Federative Republic of Brazil (under LGPD) hold equivalent rights of access, rectification, portability, and objection.
You may exercise any of these rights by reaching out to us via our official contact email.
7. Comments
If you have an account, you can comment on notes. We store the comment text, its date and the public name of your account; your email is never shown.
Every comment is reviewed before it is published. You can ask us to delete a comment of yours through the site contact channel.
Draft subject to legal review.
